UPDATE: Any current customers that are affected, please PM me, I've been contacted by another customer that's trying to get everyone together so we can collectively try to look into legal action. St. Croix Custom Pools. Reaching out to anyone that is currently building a pool with St. Croix Custom Pools in Willis, TX. We received a phone call from our Project Manager yesterday to let us know that the owner, Mark, of St. Croix told all of his employees yesterday that he was "done" and would be closing the doors, also indicated that he would probably be filing bankruptcy. Phones calls we've made go straight to an answering machine, we've been unable to leave a message because his mailbox is full. Their Facebook page has been removed and when you search the company under google, there is a red banner stating "Permanently Closed" under the picture. Our pool project has had the excavation & shot-crete finished, with the trenches dug and long plumbing just completed last week. Because of our contract, St. Croix received a draw of 25% of the total project cost after the excavation and shot-crete phases were completed. With the two draws paid, along with a $15K check we wrote to cover the difference between what we were funded for and the total cost of our project came out to be, St. Croix has received over $77K from us... with only about 1/2 that in actual work performed, according to two other pool companies we've spoken with yesterday evening. I'm hoping to let any other current customer's know, that may have a pending draw to approve, DO NOT approve it!!! We were aware, from previous discussions with our project manager, that St. Croix had about 30 other pools that they were currently working on, and I'm guessing many others are finding themselves in the same mess we're in with them. I'm not sure if there's anything collectively we can do as a group for any legal recourse, but thought it wouldn't hurt to try and reach out to anyone else that may be affected by this.
