One of two suspect,s from a Manhunt that started Saturday morning in Splendora is in CUSTODY.
This all began just past 6:00 am on Saturday 8/29/2020
When a Splendora Police Officer attempted to stop a black 2018 Toyota traveling Southbound on Hwy. 59 at East River. The vehicle which was clocked at 86 mph sped up to 130 and a pursuit started. The driver exited 59 at Creekwood and slammed into the guardrail. Both the driver and a passenger fled into the woods. Inside the vehicle which was registered in Leesville, Louisiana during the investigation officers found drugs and several cash drawers in the vehicle, a cell phone and a Louisiana driver’s license was also left behind in the vehicle. A perimeter was set up and a search started.
A short time later a resident spotted a black male breaking into a new home on Oak Wood Drive in Charterwood. Officers responded, and discovered the suspect severely cut himself on glass attempting to break in the home.. He also lost a shoe. He is described as a black male, 6 feet with a muscle shirt and glasses. He was last seen in the area behind the Water Park at 242 and 59 .
Around noon a sighting was made of the passenger in Patton Village. He was encountered at the YMCA building and fled into the woods. He was wearing a tie-dye type shirt and faded jeans. He is a black male with a bushy afro. The vehicle was registered to a woman in Leesville and is believed to be stolen.

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY Marquis Oshay Willis, one of the suspects involved in the pursuit with The City of Splendora Police Department over the weekend, is now in custody. Willis was spotted at 242 and FM 1485
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office deputies detained the suspect and took him into custody. He was transported to Methodist Hospital in The Woodlands where he was treated for cuts and dehydration. He was released to Splendora PD before being charged with Felony Evasion, Burglary of a Habitation and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.
The suspect’s juvenile brother has not be located yet, Lt. Troy Teller with Splendora PD said he believes the brother of the driver was picked up by family members. Police have identified him and charges could be pending.
