On January 29, 2020 at approximately 1220 hours, Officer Davis conducted a traffic stop on a 2001 Blue Ford F-150 for a speeding Violation on FM 2090. Officer Davis contacted the driver who originally identified as Ramero Rojos with a Date of Birth of December 28, 1986. Due to the driver not having any form of Identification, Officer Davis utilized a portable Automatic Fingerprint Identification System Device (AFIS) to confirm identification of the driver. Officer Davis received a positive picture of the driver with a different name and date of birth of Alejandro Monge-Reyes, Date of Birth of 12/28/1988. Officer Davis went to further his investigation with the Alejandro, when Alejandro put his vehicle in drive and took off. As Officer Davis pursued Alejandro when another vehicle, who we later found out was being driven by Alejandro’s wife, went head on with Officer Davis nearly striking him. During the pursuit, the female driver, later identified as Claudia Rojas, DOB 12/05/1995, attempted three more times to strike Officer Davis to prevent the pursuit to continue. Rojas struck the patrol vehicle causing no damage. The Ford, which was being driven by Alejandro got stuck near County Road 3558 in Liberty County. Alejandro fled from the truck where Rojas picked him up. Officer Davis caught up to Rojas, when Rojas struck Officer Davis’s patrol vehicle. The pursuit ended a short distance when Alejandro fled on foot and was shortly detained.
Alejandro Monge-Reyes has been previously deported, and we have currently placed an ICE Detainer along with Felony Evading with a Motor Vehicle Charge. Alexandro is being booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
Alejandro’s wife, Claudia Rojas has been charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon against a Police Officer and is being booked into the Montgomery County Jail.
