3- arrested, Car Jacking by Gun Point in New Caney

Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, assisted by the Splendora Police Department arrested the three suspects accused of perpetrating the armed robbery. That took place on Thur. 4/30/20 at the Exxon Handy Plus on 1485 in New Caney

All three suspects were charged with Aggravated Robbery and are currently being held in the Montgomery County Jail. No bond has been set for any of the three.


The three suspects, James Edward Yates, Jr. (27) of Cleveland, Lisa Lafeye Flores (31) of Splendora, and Joshua Ray Gilmore (28) of New Caney, all have criminal history of varying degrees.

**Original Incident**

About 8:30 p.m. on 4/30/20 Thursday night a customer at the Exxon Handy Plus at 24712 FM 1485 was carjacked at gunpoint for his Dodge Challenger. Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and a description of a white Dodge Dakota with a license plate number was broadcast. Police units throughout the area started to look for the truck and the Challenger. The victim said the truck had at least two persons in addition to the robber. Montgomery County Precinct 4 Lt. Looza and K-9 Deputy Duneas were traveling down Tram Road near Hill and Dale when Looza spotted the truck and called for backup.
