36 yr. old Livingston man, sentenced to multiple prison sentences.

Andrew Wayne Dawson, age 36 of Livingston, was sentenced to multiple prison sentences by 411th District Judge Kaycee Jones on Wednesday following guilty pleas to multiple felony drug related charges. Among the sentences handed down by Jones were a fifteen year sentence for Possession with Intent to Deliver Methamphetamine, a five year sentence for Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and an eighteen month sentence to a TDCJ state jail facility for Possession of Methamphetamine. According to Polk County District Attorney Lee Hon, the primary charges against Dawson stemmed from an August 8, 2017 Crimestoppers tip to the Polk County Sheriff’s Department that Dawson was involved in the sale of Methamphetamine. On that date, Polk County deputies conducted a traffic stop near Onalaska on a vehicle operated by Dawson. During a search of the vehicle officers recovered approximately six grams of Methamphetamine and an illegal short-barrel shotgun concealed in a tool box. While on bond for the earlier charges, Dawson was again arrested on September 11, 2018 at the Moscow Highway 59 Rest Area and found to be in possession of four-tenths of a gram of meth-- a State Jail felony quantity. On May 1, 2019, Dawson failed to appear for a scheduled court setting resulting in the forfeiture of his various bonds and his subsequent indictment for Bail Jumping. Dawson was located and rearrested in December of last year and has remained incarcerated in the Polk County Jail since that time.
