Frederick Herzog 32 of Splendora and Brittney Dawson 21 of Livingston surrendered to law enforcement. Jesse Arellano 18 of Splendora was arrested Thursday by LCSO-Deputies Montgomery County Pct. 2 Constable’s Office and Houston Police Department. Their arrests came after the arrest of Davonte Demond Newsome 23 of Conroe ( the 1st suspect arrested in the invstigation )
All 4- suspects are charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault, and are being held in Liberty County Jail
Newsome is being held No bond
Dawson and Arellano bond $130,000.
Herzog’s bond $60,000

According to LCSO Capt. Billy Knox, the motive for the shooting was a narcotics deal.
The 14-year-old male shooting victim is alleged to have been selling drugs to the four suspects

ORIGINAL POST on the shooting -LCSO Seeks Information on Shooting of Juvenile
At approximately 9:00 pm on Tuesday Dec. 21, 2021 a 14 year old Juvenile male was shot twice in front of his home on CR 3995 in north Liberty County by an unknown white male, who, along with two other unknown subjects that fled the scene in a white 4 door vehicle that might possibly be a Honda sedan with black wheel rims.
According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Division Commander, Capt. Billy Knox, the juvenile was transported to a Houston hospital after being shot in the leg and arm and is, at this time, in stable condition.
Capt. Knox said the exact cause of the shooting is still under investigation but it is known the shooting victim was engaged in a conversation with the subjects in the white car just prior to the shooting. The investigation is still on-going and anyone with information on the identity of the shooting suspect(s) or the vehicle involved are ask to call the Sheriff’s Office at (936) 336-4500 or the Multi-County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-392- STOP (7867). Anyone calling Crime Stoppers and providing a “tip” will remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

After several weeks of intense investigation of the shooting of a 14 year old juvenile male on December 21, 2021 on CR 3995 in north Liberty County, Capt. Billy Knox, Division Commander of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigation Division announced the arrest of 23 year old Davonte Demond Newsome on Thursday Jan. 6, 2022 in Montgomery County. According to Capt. Knox Newsome was arrested, without incident, at his residence on Tree Monkey Rd. by Investigators from both the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
Davonte Newsome has been charged with Aggravated Assault and Robbery and placed in the Liberty County Jail. The investigation in still on-going to determine an exact motive for the shooting and additional arrests are pending.
