Just before 7:00 pm on Friday 11/13/2020 , A young mother and her three children were at their Liberty County home in the 2000 block of County Roud 3548 in the Grand San Jacinto Subdivision off of FM-1010. According to neighbors she was outside as the power in the home they just moved into had not yet been turned on by Entergy even though it had been scheduled. They said they heard screaming. A call came in from the frantic mother to Liberty County dispatchers stating she had run over her 4-month-old-daughter. Plum Grove Fire and Liberty County EMS were dispatched. The home is close to 15 minutes from the fire station and even further for an ambulance. The mother then put the child in the car seat, took her other two children, and drove to Casey Ridge Grocery on FM 1485. It was there dispatchers who were on the phone got her to pull over. Billy Reynolds, an employee at Casey Ridge Grocery was walking out the front door to take the trash out when the mother and her three children pulled in screaming, however it was in Spanish and nobody was understanding. He was able to make out to call an ambulance which he did. Montgomery County Hospital District dispatched an ambulance, East Montgomery Couty Fire to the scene. While they were en route they asked Billy to remove the child from the vehicle and determine if she was breathing. They continued with additional instructions. Reynolds said the child had one eye which was not responding and was in and out of consciousness. MCHD arrived and immediately transported the child to Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Texas Medical Center. Liberty County responded to the FM 1485 location first. The mother went into the ambulance with the child so not much information was available. A customer remained on the scene with the two children awaiting the arrival of their father. After transporting the Jeep to Liberty County for processing they went back to the scene to follow up the investigation and piece together the details they did have. They learned the mother was outside. The baby was in the driveway in a baby swing. The mother got into the driver’s seat, possibly to turn the headlights on for light and put the vehicle into drive. The vehicle advanced and ran over the baby. Detectives still have not talked to the mother or the hospital to get an update on the child.
