At 11:30 pm Friday April 28, 2023 the San Jacinto County Sheriff's Office received a call for multiple shootings on Walter Road in the Trails End Subdivision in south San Jacinto County. Units arrived on the scene to find one male shot, a female in the front door shot, an 8-year-old boy shot, and two women in a bedroom shot. Those women were lying across three small children as if to try to protect them from the shooter. Four of the victims died at the scene. A fifth was transported by air medical but died at the hospital. In addition, three small children covered in blood were transported to the hospital. Exams determined the blood was from the women that were lying over them as they had no injuries. According to San Jacinto County Sheriff Greg Capers, all were shot execution style. All ten persons in the house were from Honduras. Investigators learned that the neighbor, identified as Francisco Oropeza, 38, a Mexican National who lived next door was firing his AR-15 in the front yard. The yards are about 1/4 acre each. The neighbor came to the fence and told him they had a new infant and could he refrain from the shooting. He stopped and went inside. It was a short time later he reappeared and started the shooting. Capers said they had been called to his home numerous times for the same incident. When deputies arrived they were unsure if the suspect was back at his home held up. Capers called Montgomery County for help. As SWAT was en route, units from DPS, Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables Office, and North Montgomery County Fire Department responded. Swat arrived on the scene and after securing a search warrant, made entry but found the suspect was not three. They believe they have left the area. The Texas Rangers are assisting in the investigation.

Why atter so many calls, how the hell does a mexican national even allowed to have a fire arm?, hell if you american in mexico, immediate jail.
Same thing in the Tarkington area. Always people shooting after dark. Called police multiple times and they never do a thing. Maybe now they will take it more seriously. Very sad it had to come to this.
People call all the time out here about shooting. Cops never come. This is a horrible situation that happened and now hopefully the cops in our area will start coming and doing their jobs. The victims shouldn't have had to go next door to ask him to please stop. But everyone knows out here the cops don't ever show up so we don't call anymore.
Another police department failure. Called to the scene before? Multiple times? For the same thing? ACAB
