A Harris County Pursuit ends in Montgomery County after Pct. 4 Constable's Spike Tire

On September 18, 2020 a little before 2 am a Harris County Precinct 4 Patrol Deputy was in the Greenspoint area when she attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation at I-45 and Beltway 8. The vehicle sped up to 90 miles per hour and fled north on I-45. The chase continued into Montgomery County to SH 242 then east to FM 1314. The driver turned his lights off several times as he continued south on FM 1314. The vehicle then traveled west on SH 99 exiting River Walk and back onto SH 99 to Townsend. The driver then u-turned and went back east. By this time Montgomery County units had been alerted. As the driver approached FM 1314 again a Montgomery County Precinct 4 Sergeant was able to spike the left front tire. After about two miles the driver stopped and was swarmed by police. The driver had no warrants and only had close to two ounces of marijuana, a ticket offense in Harris County. He is now charged with felony evading. and transported to the Harris County Jail, Harris County Precinct 4 was assisted by Montgomery County Precinct 4, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, and Houston Police Helicopter Division. During the entire chase, the roadways were almost completely bare of other vehicles.
