On Sunday 4/26/20 Around 2:00 pm East Montgomery County Fire Department Responded to a ( Call ) of a person stuck in a tree 40-50 feet up, complaining of nausea and vomiting which upgraded the call to a high angle rescue bringing multiple departments and resources to the scene.
With Battalion 151 in command, Porter Fire #12 as the rescue group supervisor, and Battalion 121 as Safety, East County Fire and Porter Fire members jointly developed a plan and put it into action.
Together members built anchors, haul systems, and safety lines, allowing the rescuer from East County Fire to make contact with the victim. A harness for the victim was applied and a pick off was performed allowing the units on the ground to lower them to safety.
