On Tuesday, March 31, 2020 at approximately 7:10pm a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputy arrived at the scene of a crash. The location was at the intersection of CR-340 and CR-3401. In the Bella Vista Subdivision off of FM-1010
The LCSO deputy made contact with the driver. The driver was identified as Yrvin Campos. He had slurred speech and had a strong smell of an alcoholic beverage on his breath. When the deputy began to question him, Campos became very agitated and aggressive. Campos refused to obey commands so a back-up unit was requested. The two deputies were able to place the handcuffs on the defendant.
As the deputies were assisting Campos to the patrol unit he began pulling away and started kicking the deputies. A deputy assisted Campos to the ground where leg restraints were placed on him to keep him from kicking. The defendant kept trying to kick the deputies and the firemen while he was being carried to the patrol unit. He was secured in the backseat of the patrol unit and transported to the Liberty County jail. He was charged with Resisting Arrest, Search or Transportation – Class A Misdemeanor. He was transported to the Liberty County jail and released to the book-in officer. (Information was taken from the LC deputy’s report.
