CPD, Pursuit/Stolen Pick up Early Wed. morning

A few minutes after 2 am On Wednesday May 27, 2020 Cleveland Police responded to a GPS track on a stolen truck.

The Cleveland unit spotted the Ford pickup which had been stolen in San Jacinto County on Tuesday 5/26/20

As the unit pulled up to the Shell station at the Liberty County line the passenger, who had been attempting to buy something at the window, spotted the patrol unit and ran back to the truck.

The truck left at a high rate of speed and traveled down Morgan Cemetery Drive to Morgan Lane.

There the driver ran into someone’s yard nearly hitting the garage and fled into the woods.

An assist the officer was put out bringing Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables to the scene.

The two white or light-skinned Hispanics were identified as one with a hat and white t-shirt.

The second a long-sleeve brown shirt. Both were believed to be armed. At 4 am the search was called off.

Smith Wrecker Service from Cleveland recovered the vehicle.

A second truck stolen about the same time was recovered in the South Texas town of Alice late Tuesday. It was abandon.
