Disturbance Call- Thousands of Pieces of Mail Recovered, Pct 2 MCCO

On Thursday, May 14, 2020, at approximately 6:15PM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Precinct 2 Constable’s office were dispatched to an address on Florida Park, in the River Plantation subdivision, for a family disturbance. Their investigation determined there was no violence or threat of violence against a household member; however, active warrants were found on TRAVIS A. BROWN, W/M, 39, of Conroe, and he was taken into custody for those warrants.

During the arrest process it was discovered that BROWN was in possession of 3gm of methamphetamine and a check that did not belong to him. Further investigation revealed the check had been previously stolen from a mail box in the River Plantation subdivision. Deputies requested to search BROWN’S room, but he refused.

Montgomery County Precinct 2 Deputies developed further evidence of possible fraudulent activities being conducted by the suspect at this residence, and possessing probable cause for a search warrant, one was prepared while BROWN was being booked into the Montgomery County Jail. A search warrant was then executed on BROWN’S room. At the completion of the search warrant deputies had seized a large commercial grade printer, an Identification card printer, blank checks, methamphetamine, scales, drug packaging material, and thousands of pieces of mail from hundreds of victims consisting of credit cards, credit card statements, fraudulent Texas Driver’s Licenses, retirement accounts information, etc. During this investigation it was determined that a Federal Investigator had already been assigned to the cases in this area for the stolen mail. Montgomery County precinct 2 Deputies are now working with Federal Law Enforcement to return all the mail and to notify all effected parties. Items seized in this case include approximately $2000.00 in cash, over 40 gm methamphetamine, marijuana, multiple pills, Digital scale, drug packaging materials, printers, computers, external memory sticks, thousands of pieces of mail, and fraudulent Texas Drivers licenses. More charges are expected to be filed in this case as the investigation is ongoing.
