EMC, Motorcycle Pursuit Ends in Crash and Discharge of Officer's Weapon

Just before 1 a.m. on Sunday morning 4/12/2020

A Montgomery County Precinct 4 Deputy Constable spotted a green Honda CVR 1000 take off at a high rate of speed south on Loop 494 from FM 1485 in New Caney. The Deputy was able to catch up to him and a pursuit was initiated. The chase went down Loop 494 to Mickie Road. He crossed the tracks and continued east at a high rate of speed. When the driver attempted a right turn onto Dean Street he crashed the bike in the front yard of a home. The deputy immediately exited his vehicle and attempted to take the suspect into custody with his duty weapon drawn. That is when the suspect tried to disarm the deputy causing the weapon to discharge. With both deputy and suspect rolling in the mud, the suspect trying to flee a wrecker driver arrived on the scene and was able to assist arresting the suspect. Nobody was hit. The suspect, identified as Paul Raymond McCollough Jr. of Porter was arrested and transported to the Montgomery County Jail. He is charged with evading arrest with a motor vehicle, attempting to disarm an officer and resisting arrest.
