Just after 3 pm Sunday Feb. 13, 2022, a 25-year-old male from Humble was traveling north on FM 1314 at an excessive speed. The driver of a southbound Chevrolet 2500 pickup was southbound and was turning into the Thunder Gun Range south of SH 242. The driver of the Chevrolet said he did not see the Ducati motorcycle. The pickup slammed into the motorcycle almost head-on with the motorcycle going under the truck. The driver of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and did not survive the crash. DPS Troopers spent close to three hours investigating the crash. Witnesses also say the bike was traveling fast and was not seen until after the crash. FM 1314 was closed for about 30-minutes as Troopers scaled the scene with a drone. After that two lanes were closed. The identification of the driver has not yet been released. Troopers found the license plate for the motorcycle in the driver's backpack. Montgomery County Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Matt Beasley ordered Eickenhorst Funeral Directors to transport the victim to the Montgomery County Forensic Center for autopsy.
