On March 30, 2020 a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was dispatched to CR-4284 in reference to a person riding a four-wheeler on that road. The information received by LCSO stated that the subject was wearing a black hoodie and that his name was James Edgar Shealy, W/M, DOB: 05/20/1988. The deputy found the four-wheeler parked in a neighbor’s driveway. It was discovered that he had an outstanding felony warrant. A female exited the residence and was asked where Shealy was located. The resident stated that she did not know and that there was no one in the house with her. The resident was advised that there was a felony warrant for Shealy’s arrest. When the deputy entered the house he found Shealy hiding behind a bed with bed sheets on top of him. The defendant was placed in custody.
The deputy could not find a VIN on the four-wheeler. It was noted that the blue Yamaha Grizzly 700 had been spray painted the color red on some parts. The defendant was then charged with Theft of Property – State Jail Felony. He was transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident.
