On Wednesday, May 13, 2020, a Liberty County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit was at the intersection of SH-105 and CR-2266 in the Tarkington area.
A Ford F-150 pickup was observed violating a traffic law so the deputy initiated a traffic stop.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as Chase Lee Allen, W/M, DOB: 07-28-1992 from Coldspring, Texas.
During the course of the stop the deputy was given consent to search the vehicle.
During the search the deputies located a Ziploc bag that contained multi-colored tablets and a small baggie containing a crystal like substance consistent with crystal meth.
A total of 453 tablets (109.88 grams) of suspected Ecstasy and approximately 0.85 grams of suspected crystal meth were recovered. Also found were a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a .30-.30 lever action rifle that were collected and secured as evidence.
Chase Lee Allen was arrested and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance – First Degree Felony and Possession of a Controlled Substance – State Jail Felony.
He was transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident.
