At 5:47 pm on Sunday May 24, 2020 Woodlands and Needham Fire Departments were dispatched to a house hit by lightning on Etonshire Court in Shenandoah. First units on the scene reported smoke, on arrival heavy fire was found in the attic of the 3000 square foot house. Firefighters began an attack but were soon pushed out by flames and collapses. The Brown’s who lived in the house close to 15-years were watching television when they heard the lightning strike. The television went out for a minute then came back on. Brown’s wife spotted smoke in the heavy rain out the back of the house and then in front. Brown went to the second floor where he saw the flames. The fire was brought under control shortly before 7 pm. The Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
