Approximately 7:30 am on Tue. February 25, 2020, a silver 2009 Ford F-150, driven by Robert Lynn Brock, 81, of Livingston, was north-bound on US-59 (just north of Oakdale Loop) when he left the pavement to the right, continued down an embankment, struck several trees and finally came to rest after impacting a private fence. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department, Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Troopers John Allen, Colton McQuilkin, Ashlee White and Sergeant Sam Lattner with the Texas Highway Patrol. Brock and his wife were trapped in their pickup. First Responders managed to get the passenger's side door open to rescue the couple. Brock and his wife were transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital with undisclosed injuries. A medical helicopter landed at CHI and transported Mr. Brock to Houston. Mrs. Brock's injuries were mild and non-life-threatening. Preliminarily, it is believed the Brock left the pavement due to a medical condition (heart patient). Traffic was not blocked during investigation and cleanup. This accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol. Brock's vehicle was recovered by LakeView Wrecker and will be stored in Livingston.
