MAJOR DRUG BUST IN SAN JACINTO COUNTY

On Jan. 30, 2024 Early Tuesday morning the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a female in distress who stated she was being held by a male with a gun. Units responded to Ocie Road in the Point BLank area of the County which is on the north side of Lake Livingston. As units began walking across the property they heard a female scream for help in the primary home. Units attempted to make entry on the front door which had been heavily fortified. As they went around back they were able to take the male resident of the home into custody. The female stated she had been assaulted and held against her will. As deputies checked the home for additional suspects a large amount of meth was on the kitchen table. It was then the deputies backed out and obtained a search warrant to search not just the home but the outbuildings also. They discovered what Sheriff Greg Capers described as a smorgasbord of drugs. They also discovered several pistols along with the pistol that was held on the female. As they searched they also discovered a hidden hand grenade. Not knowing if the grenade was live Capers requested the Bomb Unit with the Montgomery County Fire Marshals Office. The unit responded and after x-raying the device determined it was not live. The male who was just released from TDCJ last August was taken into custody and faces at least a dozen assorted drug charges in addition to felon in possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and unlawful restraint. Capers said he will continue to go after drug dealers and users in San Jacinto County.
