On October 10, 2019, Tommieretta Gunner and Keyonna Gunner were convicted by a jury of Injury to a Child, a third-degree felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, in the 9th District Court in Montgomery County. On October 11, 2019, Judge Phil Grant of the 9th District Court sentenced both Defendants to time behind bars. Tommieretta Gunner will serve 8 years in prison. Keyonna Gunner will serve 90 days in jail followed by 7 years of felony probation. Testimony and evidence in the trial showed that both Tommieretta Gunner and Keyonna Gunner used a stun gun on multiple occasions in order to control the 14-year-old child, who suffered from multiple disabilities.
