At approximately 2:42 pm on August 28, 2020, a blue 2003 Ford Expedition, driven by Brenda Burks, 50, of Livingston, was south-bound on US-146. Burks suddenly had a glancing head on collision with a silver 2007 Chevy Impala driven by Keyla Woodward 29, of Livingston. Woodward was north-bound and attempted a left turn onto Providence Road but failed to yield to Burks. The impact pushed both vehicles to the side of the south-bound side of 146. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with the Livingston Volunteer Fire Department Heavy Rescue Unit. Additionally Corporal Ramey Bass, Nick Hatton, and other local Troopers were dispatched to investigate. Burks was traveling with four child passengers, and Woodward was traveling with two child passengers. Four medical helicopters were summoned and landed on 146. Woodward and three kids were flown to Houston (two children to Texas Children's, one child to Hermann). One child was driven to Houston as there weren't anymore available helicopters. No citations have yet been issued as this accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol.
