Houston Police overnight-tailed four different vehicles with eight suspects who were believed to be involved in ATM thefts. They followed them to the Kroger Store in the Valley Ranch Shopping Center. Under the fully lit parking lot and employees in the Kroger Store, the DPS helicopter overhead witnessed the suspects using a cutting torch to remove the secure bar on the ATM. Then as they started to break into the ATM HPD and Montgomery County Sheriff’s Units along with Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constables were radioed to move in. As they did the vehicles fled onto SH 99, One truck drove through a flower bed at the Kroger and sped off, one vehicle was stopped at the movie theatre, another at What A Burger and the other vehicle fled into Forest Colony where they got lost and crashed out, taking off on foot. The manhunt began. Two were found in a shed. Another was captured after he broke down a gate coming from a yard. In all seven of the eight were captured, two of them females. All were transported to the Montgomery County Jail.
