PCSO- BURGLARY/FATAL SHOOTING INVESTIGATION UPDATE

On December 14, 2021, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office filed additional criminal charges in connection with the Burglary and fatal shooting investigation involving a property owner and two burglary suspects.

Through extensive investigation, Polk County Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to identify the other suspect in this burglary/shooting, as 31 year old Benjamin Lee Brown, of Conroe, Texas.

Detectives obtained a warrant on Brown for Burglary of a Building and he was quickly arrested, with the help of the Conroe Police Department Narcotics Division. Brown is also being held on unrelated charges out of Louisiana. Additional charges are being considered by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office, pending completion of the investigation.

FATAL SHOOTING, West Livingston Hwy. 190 west

On Wednesday 12/8/2021 approximately 6:40 am Detectives and Deputies from Polk County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 10200 block of US-190 West , next to A-Action Realty to report a shooting. PCSO deputies were assisted by DPS STATE Troopers. Once on scene the officer's found 1-male dead next to a white in color Ford Pickup. According to radio transmission ( PCSO dispatch ) the shooter was protecting his property. Polk County Sheriff Lyons was on scene and confirmed this information. At this time no other information is available. We will update info. if we get anymore.
