At approximately 8:50 am on Tue. March 10, 2020, a silver 2005 Toyota Camry, driven by Shania Griffin, 23, of Corrigan, was south-bound on US-59 (1800 block just north of Lincoln Lumber) when her vehicle left the pavement to the right. Griffin's vehicle continued down an embankment and slid sideways into the woods where her vehicle came to rest in a saturated muddy area. Allegiance Ambulance Service was dispatched to the scene along with Officers Valka and Porter with the Corrigan Police Department, and Trooper Colton McQuilkin with the Texas Highway Patrol. Griffin is reportedly 20 weeks pregnant. Emergency personnel carefully but urgently removed Griffin from her vehicle. Griffin was transported by ambulance to CHI Livingston Memorial Hospital. No citations were issued as the accident remains under investigation by the Texas Highway Patrol. Griffin's vehicle was recovered by Clifton Chevrolet out of Corrigan.
