Our Officers were able to locate the vehicle on FM 3083 near FM 2090 and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The driver chose to evade law enforcement and the pursuit ensued. The pursuit traveled eastbound on FM 2090 back to US Highway 59, where a Roman Forest Unit was able to successfully deploy “Spikes” and deflate one of the vehicles tires. The pursuit continued south toward Creekwood Dr, where the driver destroyed what officers believed to be illegal narcotics. The pursuit then continued north into Liberty County and also into the City of Cleveland. While in the City of Cleveland the driver showed no regards for human life of pedestrians walking on the sidewalks throughout the city and neighborhoods. At this time Chief Wally Wieghat joined the pursuit and initated a PIT (Pursuit Intervention Technique) to disable the vehicle and the driver was taken into custody. It was later learned that the driver, who lied about his name had 5 outstanding Felony Warrants for his arrest out of Montgomery County.
