PURSUIT OF SHOOTING SUSPECTS ENDS IN CRASH In New Caney

Close to 5 pm on Sat. 4/11/2020 MCSO got a report of a shooting on Panke Rd. in New Caney. A report of Hispanic male fleeing the scene in a silver suburban was broadcast. A Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputy who was en route to the scene spotted the vehicle at Keith and Loop 494. A pursuit of close to 100mph started north on 494. As the driver of the suburban realized the bridge was out at Loop 494 and the creek he attempted to turn left onto Payne Road. Due to his speed, he was unable to make the turn. The suburban crashed into the cemetery destroying a large sign with Jesus on it for the St. Johns Church. One suspect fled on foot was captured as he approached I-69 feeder. Four other males were taken into custody. Several weapons and cash were found in the vehicle. The victim from the shooting was transported to Kingwood Hospital.
