Just after 7:00 am On Friday 8/28/2020 , A construction worker driving a United Rental tank truck loaded with water was Southbound on Hwy. 59.
As he attempted to turn right onto CR- 375 , just South of Morgan Cemetery Rd. he says an 18-wheeler not slowing behind him.
The driver did complete his turn but the weight of the water rolled him over. As the truck rolled the cab struck a discarded culvert pipe in the ditch.
The driver’s side of the cab struck it crushing the cab and trapping the driver. Fire crews cut him out and he was immediately loaded on Life Flight and transported to Memorial Hermann in Houston.
After the tank was emptied and Hazmat International cleaned the oil and fuel, Smith Towing of Cleveland righted the truck. DPS is investigating the crash.
