On Monday, December 28, 2020 at approximately 2030 hours, San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a blue Honda Civic travelling Northbound on US Highway 59 located in San Jacinto County, Texas. The driver side tail lamp was not illuminated. A traffic stop was initiated on the Honda Civic, where it came to a stop on the improved shoulder of US Highway 59 Northbound, just before the exit for Loop 424.
The driver was identified by Mexico Identification card as Jorge Luis Baca Cuevas While conducting the enforcement action for the traffic offenses, the deputy made conversation with Jorge, which raised reasonable suspicion that criminal activity was afoot. After receiving consent to search the Honda Civic.
Six Ziploc style bags were recovered from inside three Coca Cola packs and weighed a total of 13.40 pounds. The crystal-like substance in each bag individually tested positive as methamphetamine. Jorge was charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group one, greater than four hundred grams. 13.40 pounds is equal to 6078.13 grams.
