On Saturday 4/18/2020 Liberty County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to a family disturbance involving a gun on CR-3408. When they arrived they could hear fighting noises in the residence. They also heard arguing and screaming.
As they approached the door they heard a woman yell “no”. Due to the fact that it was reported that a gun was involved the deputies made entry through an unlocked front door.
When they entered the residence they observed a male subject on top of a female with his left arm raised in what appeared to be an attempt to strike her in the head. The defendant was ordered to get off the female and lay face down on the floor. The subject complied and was detained.
An investigation showed that the female had a laceration on the right side of her face behind her ear. It was determined that male subject had struck her and caused the injury. The defendant was identified as Hugo Conchas-Sanchez, W/M, DOB: 04/01/1991
. He was arrested. His rights were read and he was searched before putting him in the patrol unit. A black KEL-TEC .380 semi-automatic pistol was found in his back left pocket. The defendant was transported to the Liberty County Jail without incident
. He was charged with Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member – Class A Misdemeanor. (Information is taken from the deputy’s report.
